ANIMAL WELFARE PROGRAMMES
India is probably the only country where the constitution has a special provision for animal welfare. A more comprehensive legislative framework for animal welfare has been provided by the introduction of Prevention of Cruelty of Animals Act. In order to create awareness on the Act and the need for protecting wildlife, the organization had taken up number of programs. Special orientations on the issue had been organized at the level of schools and colleges.
Awareness camps — awareness camps on prevention of cruelty to animals were organized and issues like cruelty to animals and specific standards with regard to transportation of animals and experimentation on animals and roles and responsibilities of communities were discussed in detail.
