Location of CRS & Profile of the Target Community

The Community Radio Station shall be located in Gopalpur, Dist-Ganjam. The location A is in the headquarters. Gan is one of the 30 administrative Districts of Odisha with its headquarters located at Chhatrapur. It is located in the heart of Odisha, stretching between 19.58 & 59.712 north latitude and 84.68 &91.495 east longitude with an area of 8,071 kms. Administratively, it consists of 3 subdivisions. However, the principal city is Brahmapur. As in the case of all other Districts of the country, the Collector and The District Magistrate is the administrative head of Ganjam District. The District consists of 3212 villages, 503 Gram panchayats, 22 Blocks, 23 Tehsils, 1 Municipal Corporation, Municipality, 16 Notified Area Councils of NACS, 2 Police Districts and 35 Police Stations. For better administration, there is a Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) functioning from Brahmapur. His office is named as Southern RDC Circle. For better law and order control, a Police Range also functions from Brahmapur, headed by a DIG.

Nature /Type of Programme to be broadcast in CRs.

Agriculture shall be the focal point for all kinds of community radio programmes. The prime time programmes shall concentrate on burning issues in agriculture. The Radio Station shall devise the following strategies for the dissemination of different information on agriculture to the target farming community.
